It is the mandate of the New Brunswick Council to promote and encourage membership growth in the groups within our Council. Thanks to your efforts over the last two years, the N.B. Council has grown by 4-5% each year. Steve Kent, the Chief Commissioner has challenged all Councils to aim for a 15.5% growth target for the 2009/2010 year. We hope the following rebate program will help reach our growth goal for this year.

It is our intent to offer a membership growth rebate to all groups in the N.B. Council, that experience positive membership growth, based on their final membership numbers from the 2008/2009 registration year.

For every member over last year's (2008/2009) final tally, the group will be refunded $50.00. The National Council will be paying $25.00/member and the New Brunswick Council will pay $25.00/member.

Example: "Group A" had 27 members registered in 2008/09, and finished the 2009/2010 year with 31 registered members. Their rebate would be 31-27 = 4x $50=$200.00.

Groups are encouraged to use the rebate funds towards program initiatives that promote membership growth.

New sections that start up within an existing group will be included in their groups overall numbers.

There will be some exceptions:

  1. If two or more groups join together, the total membership for all joining groups from 2008/2009 will be used as the benchmark membership number.

  2. New groups that start up in 2009/2010 will not be eligible for the rebate

  3. The rebate will be paid out only to groups that have paid their registration fees for the 2009/2010 year in full by March 31/2010. The first rebate cheques will be issued after March 31, 2010.

I hope this rebate incentive will encourage all groups to in the New Brunswick Council grow, and prosper.
